Granted that may be so BB; but they are already touching that area of your arm, gripping it to hold you still, applying the sterile wipe, etc, so it ought not to be a huge shock ;-)

The ads on TV and news reports showing the vaccine being administered don't help...the needles look huge, more like skewers than needles. And they couldn't get it further in!!!!!

Lol yep anyone with a needle phobia should look away now !

Brady Bee, during my breast cancer surgery last year, I had many needles poked into my breasts. I was VERY surprised to find I felt almost nothing, even when they did the biopsies!

Novocain injections for dentistry were MUCH MUCH worse!

Yep those stinging little injections under the top lip are bad lol the worst !

I have a major issue with any vaccination being mandatory. I was a career firefighter/paramedic for years and the few times I had to take a vaccination, I had horrid reactions and finally opted out. Spending time in the ER is no fun.

Choice is important; I don't have Flu jabs because the only year I did have one (when my then boss insisted) was the only year in over a decade when I promptly when down with an attack of the flu. Probably a different variant from those innoculated against that year, and maybe a complete coincidence. But I just didn't get the Flu any longer after I left London, where I'd had many doses. Then suddenly I got it again, out here in the cleaner air, and only when I had been vaccinated. So I now turn them down when offered; would hate to feel compelled. But then Flu is always with us, and does not kill at the Covid levels or usually so horribly. I hope that nobody refuses this one based on the bad information that has gone the rounds. Of course its a gamble, because it is early days; however testing of vaccines has improved, and continues to improve, so fingers crossed lots of us have not condemned ourselves to blood clots or any other problem to be discovered in the future. We do need to get a substantial percentage vaccinated to give us some herd immunity into that future.

Well, I got the AstraZeneca vaccine yesterday. I didn't feel a thing and it was very well organised. So far I have no side effects, not even the sore arm some people have had. I suppose time will tell if the vaccines truly work longterm . Let's just hope there's no nasty effects further down the line. In the meantime .....roll on the next 12 weeks for my second dose.

Doubt any nasty side effects down the line could be any worse than catching Covid with everything that does to the body. I will take my chances with the vaccine thanks, there's nothing comes without possible side effects. I mean have you ever read the leaflets that come with prescription drugs, scary stuff!
