Whoo hoo!  New pics!  Glad you are back amongst us Crys!  Great shots and WOW has she grown!  Don't worry about that ear.  It's up and it's gonna stay up.  It will get stronger as she grows.  Darling pic of them spooning.  Thanks for getting me my fix!  I was just about into the DT's. LOL

She looks great Crys!  I was wondering what happened to you, glad you are back!

As for her ear, I'm not sure, it may always be weak, they should be up  and at 'em by six months in my opinion, but I hope I'm wrong.  I love  good ears on a shepherd too.

I was out of town for three weeks, don't remember if I told anyone here or not...

My Dad is suffering from advanced emphysema, partly from smoking, I think, but partly from having worked in the commercial kitchen equipment industry for a long, long time, around refrigerants and other harmful chemicals.  He's not doing very well, not the past year or so, and we have about 15 years of catching up to do.  So he flew me to Chicago and drove me down to the Quad Cities in Illiniois, where I spent two weeks with him, getting to know him a little better.  Then we took a few days and took a trip down to Nashville, Tennessee, where we spent some time touring The Hermitage, Andrew Jackson's plantation, Mansker Station, and, of course, the Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman Auditorium.  We had a great time, got to know each other a bit better.

Just the same, it wasn't nearly enough time spent with him, especially when I think of how I know his time in this world, in my world, is limited, but I had to get back home, back to my kids and my dogs, and my responsibilities. Oh, there I go again, having to wipe away tears.  Funny, isn't it, how you take for granted time, until time becomes the enemy?

So that's where I disappeared to.  I couldn't really check in on the PDB while I was gone, although I did post a message on the thread about Steph's accident once.  But I'm back now, although I'm busy with a kid in school, the Energizer bunny child all day, and the dogs, plus the fall food preserving that I always do.  I won't be on a lot, but I'll check in from time to time and see how ya'll are doing, and post new pics and all.

Mostly I've been avoiding the threads here as there's been so much drama over the OT threads and the other stuff, as people here focus on the differences between them and not on what brought us all here in the first place.  Take a moment, please, and hug your GSDs...We love them dearly!

More later....

I was aware of your situation Crys but didn't know if you wanted to discuss it on here.  Glad you were able to spend quality time with your dad.  You are so right about time being the enemy.  Sorry to hear your dad is in such bad shape.  You hang in there, ya hear?  And yes, I'll hug my little monster and give her one from Oakely as I know you'll give our girl one from me.

Cool Cry, I was wondering how she was doing. She looks wondrful. Misty is being such a good guide dog for her. I find it so interesting to observe this behavior in the rest of the pack when one dog has disabilities. You are being spectacular dog mom!
Always,
Cee

Here's a new pic of Oakley that I took a couple of days ago...We're always outside these days...So much to get done before the white stuff starts!

But these are good ones I took.  Oakley is always right there with me...Not clingy like she used to be when she was little, just always wants to keep tabs on me...Makes getting a stack a challenge, though...Damned if I can get her in the right pose and then get far enough away.  She does the stay just fine, but she gets bored standing there, so she sits or downs, ruining my photo op!

Anyway, enjoy!

Crys

This last one is of Oakley tracking me...She's quite the nose!  She started past me, following Misty, but then decided that she didn't know where I was, so she started searching...She's not trained on command to track, but if I were to come up missing, she'd search till she dropped looking for me.  What a friend!!  Enjoy!

What a beauty Crys!  Once again, thanks for posting the pics.  Oakley is really maturing into a lovely girl.  And to think she was almost put to sleep because she is blind.  Thanks to you and to Steph for coming to her rescue!
