Washington State! There is no income tax-only sales tax. There is a higher cost of living than most places, though. Your average 3-4 br house, with nothing special, in an average neighborhood will run you about $350k and up. Two br townhouses or condos run over $250k. Traffic is horrific during the weekday rush-hour--4th worst in the country. However, on weekends (i.e. for training), it is usually a piece of cake. But...
We train year 'round in Western Washington, as it is unusual for it to be either really cold or really hot. Eight to nine months out of the year, we can track at any time, as the conditions are essentially the same throughout the day. Only at the very height of summer must tracking be done in the early morning, because it will be significantly drier and warmer the rest of the day.
The area is very dog-friendly. Seattle is the reputed to be one of the most dog-friendly cities in the country. With 100,000 licensed dogs in the city, several dog-parks (one with its own beach on the lake!), dozens of doggie-daycare businesses and doggy toy/food stores doing business good enough to keep them situated in the high-rent areas, it is apparently true.
Eastern Washington is like a whole other country, though. They have real winters and summers, as well as a lower cost of living.

Spent five years in Albuquerque! Originally from Michigan but get homesick for New Mexico. Got back there last October and the pic of me and Anastacia, (Here are my GSDs), when she was a pup was taken at the top of the Sandias.
They had this AWESOME Brazilian restaurant downtown, unbelievablr food. Property/houses are definately cheaper there than in Maryland.
I was going to ask earlier in another thread where are you at in your avatar?

The restaurant you are thinking of is Tucanos Brazilian Grill. Yum, I love that place.
In my avitar picture I am sitting on a sand stone ridge, in Moab Utah, that over looks Arches National Park. You can only get there by foot or mountain bike. The views are breath taking. Moab's a great place to go hiking, mountain biking or white water rafting. It's about a six hour drive from Albuquerque and an eight hour drive from Phoenix.
