BRADY BEE

by BRADY BEE on 04 April 2022 - 14:04

I was given an Air Fryer at Christmas which I didn't really think I'd use much, but it's great. It's supposed to be healthier than deep frying . I've cooked all sorts of food in it. Some fresh, some frozen. It does the oven chips better than the oven , but I still crave some home made deep fried chips lol.
Mind you, this healthy frying lark is a bit of a waste for me , because I've just scoffed a large easter egg ! Bought for my Grandson. I really shouldn't buy them weeks before Easter since this will be the second one I'll have to replace lol

Lol I do it every year. Costs me a small fortune and now I'm feeling bloated and full of regret lol

mr. darcy, I meant failed at posting a pic, not starting a thread.

at this stage, I can pretty much carry on an interesting conversation with myself.

I believe the unhealthy thing with frying is the oil that is used.

Now Brady has an air fryer, thus no oil involved. A lot healthier for you.

Caution, don't fry those Easter Eggs. LOL

Hey Rik, don't feel lonely about not being able to post pictures, the last 10 times I've tried, every single one failed.

Yeah, I've had so much trouble I gave up trying long since.

right now, I'm using canola or olive oil. I do not deep fry anything.

and the pic is of my new wok, that I really wanted to post for hund and see where that led. :).

see, I can't even post a real "smiley".

Sounded from your first posts that the new wok is an electric one, Rik ? Seeing a photo won't help in that case as I have never used one, my (2 or 3) woks this lifetime have all been yer basic 'stick it on the hob' variety ! I did have one once that came with its own stand, a ring to go around the hob so the pan could stand more securely and have a more pointy bottom, but I never really got on so well with that one. Partly because moving the wok around (rather than its contents) was hampered by the stand.

@ mountain lion ....I really laughed at your fried Easter egg comment , because at one time the craze in Scotland was for fried Mars Bars lol. They were dipped in batter then deep fried !! Artery cloggers! Im not sure if that craze is still around , or 'died'off , but I never tried them myself . I have a love for all things chocolate but I draw the line at deep frying !

I understand you can still get fried Mars bars in Glasgow chip-shops, BB.
