There's always the bad apples. RCMP finds large cache of guns, ammo and body armor. It seems as a result of this, the peaceful truckers have decided to move on, as they don't want to be associated with this group, which obviously meant to commit violence. Also, the Alberta government has been preparing to forcefully remove the blockade.

From the U.S. I mourn the death of a democracy that enshrined the right to peaceful protest in their charter only to see it die under the boots & batons of black masked storm troopers while some of it citizens stood by and did nothing.

Tig, who are the black masked storm troopers?
Scratching my head here...
A woman who attended both the Toronto and Ottawa convoy protests counted over 200 Nazi, anti-Semitic and White Supremacist slogans and placards. When she posted them on FB, she was suspended for 30 days. :(
The fund for the protest was hacked. An analysis show 182 references to Q-Anon. Many contributions were for $88. Neo-Nazis use that number to represent H.H (Heil Hitler). The Crusader slogan, Deus vult (God Wills), another White Nationalist and anti-Islamic slogan was frequently seen in the comments.
More contributions came from the United States than from Canada.

Don't be fooled - this convoy is not as innocent as people think it is!!

Try looking for information from a source that is not government funded. Meanwhile you may want to START with https://youtu.be/5efyUt5YDU0 a discussion between Jordan Peterson & Rex Murphy a long time CBC commentator. The Toronto Staff has also had several interesting articles.
You might want to take a look at this also https://youtu.be/mdY9okJa5cA especially at 10:48 on the video where the police refer to themselves as Jack booted and gloat about injuring a First Nation elder using a walker. The presenter here is a lawyer who consistently does a pretty good job of explaining the law & important cases to people. He shows 3 different angles including one from above of the incident but there are many many more available all over the web if you just bother to look. Can videos be manipulated. Yeah. Hundreds of them? Unlikely especially by this guy. He does not have a dog in the fight. He's in AZ.
Then go out and read articles from all over the world covering these events and also mosey on over to yahoo or whatever video source of your choosing where there are thousands of videos taken in real time of the events over the last four weeks.
Very important do not limit yourself to sources that you are comfortable with. Read/view the opposition as well. View sources you presume to have incorrect information. Pick random sources you know nothing about - probably the 2nd most important piece. Finally & the most important piece with the gift of intelligence God has given you make your own judgement and discernment of unfolding events. Why would you rely on someone else to do that for you?
I have taught courses on the ethical use of the web. I have taught courses on how to determine the reliability and accuracy of information retrieved from the web. I do not rely on any biased - regardless which direction the bias comes from- " fact checking" sites. I DO MY OWN FACT CHECKING as any web user should. Especially on any issue as important to the future of your country. If you are unwilling to expend the energy to do these steps - shame on you.
Some 30 years ago an employee gave me what she thought of as a joke birthday gift. It was a copy of an anarchists magazine. Since I suffer from an overabundance of curiosity, I of course read it from stem to stern. On the very LAST page - a lesson in reading many sources/ perspectives- was an editorial with a quote that I believe is critical to understand in our digital age.
"Data is not information, Information is not knowledge, Knowledge is not understanding and Understanding is not Wisdom"
Quote attributed to Clifford Stoll . N. B. Einstein decades earlier had said the part Information is not Knowledge.
Peace. I hope you survive the dystopia Canada is likely to become.

Sunsilver, don't waste your time and energy on this joker, the sources that are used to promote that point of view are all so valid and unbiased. Made me pass morning coffee through my nose.Believe me that hurts!
After 23 days of that crap I really feel for the residents of downtown Ottawa, the shop owners and workers who had to put up with that.
As for our democracy I think we will do just fine and I sure wouldn't take lessons from what is going on in the USA.Fix your shit we can take care of ourselves, amongst ourselves.

If Canada becomes a distopia, it will very possibly be due to outside influence.

then read up on who she is.
Incredible that these same people who prone democracy and liberty would also promote ideas as far fetched as invading Canada.
Problem seems to be that Americans are polarized politicly. Many times they are either Democrat or Republican and it seems like it is for life. What they should "try" to understand that in Canada it is not quite that way.Our votes shift many times according to who represents our values on certain ideas at a certain time.I for one have voted liberal in the past (not since Trudeau is head of Liberals) and I have also voted conservative, when they were more centrist.
The beauty with Democracy is that all can voice their opinions but they must also be able to accept that when they try to pass off bullshit as facts they need to be called out for such.
