OK- Shelley knows what has happened. I am sorry I didnt post sooner but have been trying to follow up to see if any salvage was pssible. I am so so sad... Let me gather myself a bit. Suffice it to say that Karen Parks, an egotistical rescuer who seems to care only about herself and not a whit about the dogs, screwed up everything by inserting herself into the equation. We had a buy arranged for the evening I posted- we had 2 people who were going to front the money in the hopes we could then get pledges, as these dogs lives were in immediate danger, and once we had them we were going to call AC. A *rescuer* ( I use that term lightly- very lightly, in fact, downright sarcastically) knew nothing about this situation. Someone tagged her on facebook and she inserted herself and was hell bent on doin g her own thing. As i said, we had arranged for the buy to take place that evening. Karen parks came onto the facebook thread and said she was calling AC and threatened anyone who would go there, saying AC said they would get in trouble if the y showed up at the house..
We didnt think calling AC first was the way to go, because
1) momma dog would not survive being held as evidence in a shelter- she was emaciated!
2) I personally tried for 1 1/2 yrs to get AC to confiscate my neighbors dog, who was being abused, look much like the mama dog in the photo, yet it still took the that long to confiscate her. I used to sneak outside at 1 am to feed the poor baby through the fence. She would always be there waiting for the side door to open ( our propert line here is ony 5 feet). Therefore, we were going to make the buy, and then call AC once they were in our possession. We had the photos to prove our case, so momma would be able to be fostered by the people who were going to make the buy (one fronting $500- a member of my DM Support Group, and the other , a registered nurse, was fronting $275).
Karen Parks had a hissy fit that the dogs were going to be rescued byDanielle, a private individual, and then posted Danielle's telephone number on a public facebook thread!!! OMG! At that point, we had to take down the thread :( The last post Karen Parks made was to say that AC was on the way to the owner of the mom/pups house, and would be there in 10 minutes. Therefore, between the threats and the 3 hr ride in each direction to get the mom and pups, it appeared to be pointless- AC would beat us there :( Who is going to jump in a car, ride to horrible neighborhood in a dangerous area when they were told AC would be arriving in 10 minutes, when they had a 3 hr drive to get there????
It goes on and and on and I wont bore you with the details, but..... to make the long story short,... The fellow with the dogs texted Danielle, our point person, who was going to be picking up the dogs, at 6 p m, asking her where she was and if she was coming to get the momma and the pups!!! HELLO????????????? WTF????????? Karen Parks made her post about the AC arriving within 10 minues of her post early in the morning, and now it is 6 pm and the dogs are still there???????? HUH????????
I pm'd Karen on facebook...... to be continued....

Sooooooooooooooooooo......... ( sorry for such a long story but this has gone on for days, now)
Danielle called the owner of the pups back the following day to get the dogs. He informed her he *gave* the dogs ( mama and pups) away!!!! OMG!!!! WHY would he GIVE the dogs away, when
1) he didnt want to sell the mom in the first place. Only reason he said he would sell her is because we offered $500!!! Suddenly he is going to GIVE them away???????? I think not.... :( I cant help but wonder if his neighbors didnt tip him off, after Danielle's initital conversation with him, that AC paid a visit ( IF they did, and I am not convinced that did happen...) People were calling and and backing him up against the wall for the mom's conditon and the cut iff ears of the pups, and he was feeling heat!
Well the momma and thepups have now vanished....The man does live adjaent to Sequoia National park.... easy place to dump unwanted dogs....
We have put a DNR on Karen Parks.

They werent private as she stated she was sending them out to the public, and they were not from this forum! They were from facebook. Facebook didnt even remove them as she h erself said she was sending it out to be seen!
People need to know what happened and why we have her labeled as a DNR! I would not have posted them, otherwise, and i stated that in my original post. I feel you are very wrong about this! I am quite upset you did not allow this.

Please explain to me how this forum is allowing dogs to be in harms way. You posted what appeared to be private messages and/or copy and pastes off of Facebook, we do not allow either and we are not going to allow rescues or any other member to break the rules.
This admin has gone to bat for rescues numerous times, this admin pushed for a forum for rescues and to say we are allowing dogs to be in harms way is a slap in the face and a shame.

People should not label a perrson a DNR just on someone's say so, because, sadly, there is much in fighting in rescue. Too ofte, the dogs get ;
lost in the shuffle to EGO! EGO has NO PLACE in rescue! There are some who feel they are the *rescue God* and their actionsendanger animals. The actions of a person, their own words and their OWN actions should be used to label them as a DNR. Without the facts, it is merely a he said/she said situation. A picture tells a thousand words, and THAT is why it was posted! After the other party involved said she was going to post it, there was no reason for me not to do so. People need to see why this person needs to be avoided like the plague! To remove the very picture of what transpired allows dogs to be in harms way. How many more will be left in harms way, when they had rescue, if she is allowed to continue to operate in this manner. The facts need to be out there to keep dogs SAFE! To hide it only puts more, in jeopardy! ! This little family would have been safe, if not for her! They would have been in rescue and the starving mom would have a had a warm safe place to lay her head, and her belly would be full.
