@Noitsyou.

@beetree, did I say to just hand out money? I said that something needs to be done by the government. The government made the effort to create the ghettos and the trailer parks so it bears some responsibility to fix them.

BTW, there are plenty of "intelligent" wealthy people who are drug addicts.

No, you didn't say to "just hand out money", but it was an idea that GSDAdmin mentioned before, and seemed to like. As a matter of fact there are more than a few news stories on the web floating the idea, for example:

A simple cash subsidy—$15,000 per year (which is about what the average retiree gets annually from Social Security) for every household, say—would give the poor and middle class a financial floor on which they could live, take care of their loved ones and maybe, says Jacobson, "think about what really needs doing, what they would like to do, what they have trained to do, as opposed to simply what someone might hire them to do."

It makes financial sense for the cash-strapped U.S. government. In 2012, the federal government spent $786 billion on Social Security and $94 billion on unemployment. Additionally, federal and state governments together spent $1 trillion on welfare of the food stamp variety. Adding those costs together, that's $1.88 trillion. This number shows no signs of falling—in fact, the number of people seeking social services each year is increasing, as is the rate of homelessness, and as the baby boomer generation ages, more and more will need the support of Social Security.

Here is a collection of 12 ideas/stories called, "The Biggest And Boldest Ideas For How To Stop Rising Inequality" with actionable ideas to actually make a difference,  as stated:

...stories that, taken together, offer an in-depth discussion of how to achieve a more fair society, one in which a person born at the bottom isn’t doomed there for life. These ideas cover topics such as how college can be made more affordable and neighborhoods can be less segregated, and more radical ideas, like a universal basic income for all.

Still, talk about problems is cheap, and talk about the many possible solutions is only slightly less cheap. It’s making any of these ideas a reality that requires the collective creativity and will of citizens, communities, leaders, and innovators around the globe. ...

And btw, yes, I am well aware that drug addicion is an equal opportunity for people of all colors and incomes.

@Prager, you make no case. So what if in the past dems were pro-slavery? The Germans conquered your country of birth and you know better than I the horrors they committed in Eastern Europe. Does this mean that today you should consider the Germans your enemy? Are the Germans of today the same Germans of over 50 years ago?

Whites enslaved blacks in this country for hundreds of years. Does that mean that blacks should distrust whites today?

You also have it backward. Poverty caused the breakdown of the black family.

This quote from you is also simplistic: "Take a look at say Detroit, a poor crime ridden city run by Democrats for over 50 years.Median household income was $26,325 for the period 2009 to 2013. This makes it one of the poorest cities in the US. The Black population is about 83%. Since they are the majority group, racial discrimination cannot be the reason why there are so many jobless people."

A. 83% of the population may be black but it doesn't mean that that 83% controls 83% of the jobs.
B. The effects of racism, such as poverty, creates a population that is unqualified for jobs. If Detroit lacks jobs residents could always move to where jobs are but, if they are not qualified for those jobs where can they go?
C. A city is not an island. It is connected to the country and state it is part of. None of the guns on the streets are manufactured there. The cocaine used for crack is not grown there. The redlining that created the ghettos was implemented by whites who did not live there.

O yeas I make sense you are just trying really hard to prove me wrong. Nothing changed in past in attitude of left thinking people except degree. And I would not exclude dems or reps excepts democrats are much,... much worse. And Yes blacks distrust whites. Do you know why they call us "cracker"? It has been suggested , that white slave foremen in the antebellum South were called "crackers" owing to their practice of "cracking the whip" to drive and punish slaves. ( and yes you can find different explanations)

And yes in principle Germans of today are the same as Germans of the past. What do you think European union is today,. It is way for Germans to rule over Europe. I lived in Germany and I loved it there but I did not want to live there because I, Czech - Slav, was just another Untermensch never mind that Czechs have 300 years of same history as Germans and are generically 2/3 - 3/4 Germans. Oh yes I was treated well just like blacks are treated well on open in US, but intrinsically I and my Czech and Slovak compatriots were just shit. My friend Alexander B. with whom I defected had grandma who was German thus he claimed German heritage and he was accepted but was also told that there are different levels of German heritage. A1 ( or something like that ) was person whose parents were both German and then one parent and one grandparnetn was A2 and then B1,2,3 and C1,2,3...... and one 2 grandparent and one grand-grand parent and on and on . And in the mix was also if the person was born in Germany or other country And on and on. I as Czech was nothing and it showed. I spoke perfect German and had German friends...I thought. Until I misspoke and it was clear that I am not German and when I asked I said I am Czech. All those so called friends melted away like snow on hot oven. My friend lost friends of 14 years when they realized that he is not German by birth even so he was already a citizen. My nickname is Hans every time I talk to Germans and they realize that I am actually not German I here "Oh" and attitude is changed. German SchH judges are perfect example.
You can dress pig in a tuxedo but in the end you will have a pig. I have rarely encountered such bigoted attitude towards me in US . Except from youCarlo And even you , I believfe are doing it because you as a troll want to get rise out of me.
So to a degree I do understand how blacks feel when discriminated against.

Black family disintegration.
Your premises is ridiculous. Poverty does not cause disintegration of family some of the strongest families are in poor cultures. In Czechoslovakia I personally witnessed especially in  east part of Slovakia the poverty which was staggering. Blacks on poverty level here  in US   compared to E. Slovakia would be considered filthy rich. People there have had  dirt for floor, outside restrooms, no indoor plumbing and farm animals like chicken or goat kids would roam the living room-bedroom-kitchen all in one. And I assure you that family ties there were unbreakable and divorce basically did not exist and single mothers were only widows. So not just no but absolutely  NO. Poverty is not direct cause of  disintegration of family.
Dr. Ava Muhammad argued that remaining unmarried was against our nature: "Beloved we have to produce and support families because the way we( African Americans) are being destroyed today is through disintegration of our families....."
look it up:
https://books.google.com/books?id=4_xjDAAAQBAJ&pg=PA94&lpg=PA94&dq=Louis+Farrakhan+on+disintegration+of+the+family&source=bl&ots=-CnkF8fo2_&sig=MXi-kASQbtG6b_sByYVIWCLaGBk&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiH3aLo2eTOAhVB1mMKHRJ0C2IQ6AEIJjAB#v=onepage&q=Louis%20Farrakhan%20on%20disintegration%20of%20the%20family&f=false

And Democrats are experts at supporting disintegration of the families by their enabling policies. It is happening right now and it is disgraceful.

Same stuff happens elsewhere and under different circumstances - I used to know a 'Hans', who wasn't.  HIS given name was Jacob and he was Dutch - but he had the same nonsense with the English, who thought he had to be German. (Tall, blond, had spent time in a Camp, funny accent ...) English speakers seem notoriously reluctant to engage properly with other languages and cultures, no matter who. My 'Hans' did not find his friends melting away when they discovered their error, though. Our own perception of things that happen to us in life have just as much relevance as do other peoples' prejudices, much of the time, I think !

by Noitsyou on 28 August 2016 - 23:08

@Prager, similar circumstances don't always appear similar on closer inspection. With blacks in America you have the specter of slavery and racism. You have a level of violence in the inner cities that doesn't exist in every poverty stricken area. You had the eradication of cultural and familial ties. Take a look at the surnames of African-Americans: how many of them are actually African in origin? Whatever culture the Africans brought with them here was replaced by a culture based on being a slave. Even a foreign religion was imposed upon them. If you want to talk about family disintegration let's talk about how the children of slaves were taken from their mothers and sold. Sally Hemings was an unwed mother. Once slavery was abolished you still had racist policies which marginalized blacks. The idea that blacks were living the American Dream until welfare entered the picture is silly. Just try and focus. I never said poverty causes this or that in general; I said poverty was at the root of the problems in the inner cities. And all of those things I mentioned are the reasons for that poverty.

Take a look at the German national football team and see how many "untermensch" represent that country.

And sorry to spoil your leftist inspired victim pity party but I have nothing against Czechs. I almost named my dog after Pavel Nedved. Me having issues with you has nothing to do with your DNA but your behavior.

" Me having issues with you has nothing to do with your DNA but your behavior."

Man you hit the nail on the head on that one. I was brought up to treat all people the same until you do something wrong to me and if you are of a different culture or race and you do something wrong to me I don't hold it against all people of that race or culture, only you. I wish more people had those values, including other races.

Prager

Hundmutter. I know many more cases where this happened. Your "Hans" was Dutch . Dutch are West Germanic. I am slav that is a big difference. Slavs to Germans are like blacks to KKK. That is my and other Czech immigrants experience.

Prager

by Prager on 01 September 2016 - 01:09

noitsyou Wasn't it you who said that I should not look at racist Democrats of past but look at the present situation? Yes it was! Yet you do the same thing by talking about disintegration of family during slavery 150+ years ago. Where I am talking about disintegration of black families by doings of liberal welfare nanny state mainly promulgated by Democrats TODAY. Thus I think it should be you who should "focus".

Football team. What a silly example. So you think that there is no racism against blacks in USA because we have them playing baseball and football. Again You should "focus" and what you are saying . Seems that you have hard time to keep your BS in order.

And I am glad you have no problem with Czechs You are just bigot when they immigrate into USA. Then you call them "foreigners" who can never understand USA even so they live here decades and are citizens and love this country more and different way then you can ever understand.

by Noitsyou on 01 September 2016 - 16:09

@Prager, I don't even know what that means. If a democrat owned a slave 200 years ago what does that have to do with a democrat today? Your argument for the disintegration of the black family is opinion and not fact. Mine is based on fact. Did the black family disintegrate TODAY? No. The starting point was long before welfare existed. That again, is fact.

Now you are shifting the goalposts. You go from a blanket statement on Germans being racists to now saying that there are some racists. So what's the argument now? Is it all Germans are racists or that racism still exists. Pick one and stay on topic.

I have no problem with Czechs who choose to live here. I didn't know you represented all Czechs. I don't think all Czechs would want you to be considered representative of them as a whole. If I use your logic then I can say that you hate all blacks since you hate Obama.

And don't assume you love this country more than anyone else. That's how fascism takes root.
