There have been so many heated topics here as of late. Although I am new to posting am not new to this board. I can't recall a time in the recent past when things were so heated. Wonder if being a Presidential election year in U.S.A. has anything to do with it. Anyway it would seem I lost face by participating in a ridiculous post. I, indeed started it, an honest, earnest question, yet I also perpetuated the situation by posting several times early on. After recieving sage advice from someone I have utmost respect for I stopped. I wanted to count myself in. I realize I have the freedom to read what I choose and leave the rest behind.The fact is this a G.S.D. forum and I am passionate about the breed. I am also passionate about politics and the war as well as history, so for me, it is difficult not to read all these threads.Stand on Muslims in particular in my opinion is nothing more than racist bigoted hateful propaganda..The poster speaks of radical muslims, fundamentelists,well, Two Moons aptly put it any of these groups are dangerous.In this post Sen. Barack Obama is slammed and character assasinated for being a Muslim. I beieive the parties doing so on thid thread and several others are actually Christians.I find it quite hypocritical as it is my understanding...Love thy neighbor, Do unto others,Judge not,lest ye be judged and what happened to we are all Gods children.?? I speak first hand when I say fundamentalist christian groups are DANGEROUS. I am a Witch (yes,a recognized religion that pre-dates christianity) Well back in 1976 a group of Christians were visiting Salem,Ma. in Oct., for what I call rent a Witch monthLOL. They expresssed they would like to save me, I inquired from what? The Devil. As there is no devil inmy religions deity structure, I po;itely declined "saving and promptly crossed the street. Within moments I was being pelted with stones!!! Someone phoned the police and I pressed charges, it was then written into law....the hate crime law within the fine city of Salem. This particular group was asked to leave and banned for the next several years. When and if they did return they needed to respect the law. Of course freedom of speech, freedom to assemble, but not freedom to stone someone, yet alone a 16 year old girl. any way there are so many two faced people here,saying The Senator is not an American, being only second generation American on my dad'side(my grampy came from Ireland when he was 12) I am reminded of New York City at the turn of the century when so many Italiens, Jews, Irish and others had just arrived mainly through Fire Island. So poor,many starving in fact.Those folks are our(many of us board members) ancestors.       Interesting perspective.....I must take you to task on a couple points,though. You are against affirmative action? And Universal healthcare? Who will pay for it? The Gov't if we really believe in justice! Affirmative action has ALWAYS been around for whites in the USA....it only seems to be a problem when it is "expanded" to include people of color! But there's no racism in the US....LOL! Get real. Whites have always benefitted from UNEARNED racial privelege in America....this has not changed,and I am always amazed that we can't seem to see this,but the moment a person of color gets ANYTHING substantial (in the way of Gov't contracts,education,employment) we act as though they have somehow stolen it from white folks(who,of course are inherently deserving of EVERYTHING and should'nt be expected to share!).

    If one is supposedly for justice,then be for justice for all,not just some! You are on the right track,but you still have work to do. We all do!!  For an interesting,and historically accurate perspective,might I suggest you check out Tim Wise?

Thanks for the info. Will gladly check out Tim Wise.As for affirmative action what I am against is for example two folks taking the civil service exam...

the white male scores a 93% and the hispanic or whomever,non-white, scores a 78% I believe the person with the highest score earned the position.I have a police officer friend this happened to years ago.He lost the job even though he scored a 97.

With regard to universal health care, you are absolutely correct and I stand corrected on my previous belief.I sincerely appreciate you're pointing this out.

I read recently that Indianapolis Police Department is now done with affirmative action.

They have had their share of problems,  with lesser qualified applicants,  who turned out to be thugs on the Force committing criminal acts.

I suspect more will follow..affirmative action can be seen for what it is, a Joke. Judge someone based on merit & most qualified, not skin color.  

For many..affirmative action is now reverse racism.

There is no such thing  IN REALITY as "reverse discrimination" for reasons already mentioned. Rest assured,I need neither Paxil nor any other med (and by the way,Paxil is an antidepressant,not an antipsychotic) and there is not much that I am oblivious to when it comes to justice,if I do say so myself. History through the words of the American Indian, as well as Blacks. There is a quote from President Thomas Jefferson as well as Black Elk. I started this thread after recently registering and asking a question, I had my character assasinated and my integrity called into question. No fun and hardly helpful. After careful consideration and a great deal of time pouring over various OT threads and in light of the personal attacks, I composed the above due to the mere fact there are so many parrallels that we see not only in America, but worlwide. The intent was to call attention to some little known facts about a proud People that actually fought in the first world war and weren't citizens,for a flag to which thay had no claim,and for people that treated them unjustly.I read each and every day of these very things happening right here today. You seemed to have bypassed the comment about McCain!? Putting the focus on someone else or something else is usually preferable when one with little character is faced with a challenging question.

In 1982 I took the postal civil service exam in Cleveland and scored a 98 but was told that I could not be hired because affirmative action demanded they hire someone who had scored lower but had a different color skin.  This was after I had been drafted and served 4 yrs in the USAF during Vietnam.

My son went to the same schools, got the same education as others but they will get an automatic 12pts on their college applications for the color of their skin. 

There is a lot wrong with our country and politics.  But there is a lot right.  We have some of the highest standards of living - but for how long.

Liberals want all children to feel good about themselves so they get a lot of emotion based programs installed.  No child left behind has a lot of children moving forward without having the skills to complete the next level.

You know teachers are instructed to not use red markings when correcting papers because the color is too agressive and can cause a child to retaliate.  Teachers are taught to use minimal or no self-defense when physically attacked by a student (regardless of the size of the child) so as not to elevate the attack.  Students, more and more, are having less respect for educators and adults as a whole.

Native Americans are getting special considerations in running casinos, getting wealthy and then turning on members of their own tribes to find any and all reasons to exclude them from benifiting in the profits.  Some members of tribes are getting filthy rich while other members still live in poverty on reservations.

Radical muslims flew two huge jumbo jets, filled with passengers, into the twin towers in NY and another into the pentagon killing near 3,000 CIVILIANS.  They constantly preach the total annilation of all western infidels (Americans).

Muslims come to the U.S. to escape the radical restrictive social controls of their homelands but then insist on continuing living isolated lives here and condemning us for our sinful ways.  "Honor killings" are on the rise throughout the U.S. This is were a male family member will kill their female family member for bringing dishonor to the family by something as simple as dating a non-muslim or infidel.

In an effort to be compassionate or understanding we are constantly re-identifying people and programs.
