Yummy Chummies - salmon treats!  They have a nice fishy smell that works well for tracking but they store for a long time at room temperature.  My dogs love those things - they chewed threw my fleece jacket that I wear for training because they could smell the crumbs in the pockets!

wuzzup the liver cookies are cooked , they do have flour , cornmeal, and garlic. I keep some frozen and the rest in the fridge. But I think they would be fine in hot weather for laying a track and doing obedience. I guess if it was a long day you could keep them on ice in a small cooler, but I don't think they would go bad that fast...

thank  you trailrider i was worried for the dogs but also I did not want to food poison myself!!! i don't mind a hand full of dog food accidentally coming in contact with my hand and mouth as they must have preservatives in them .however some of the other treats do give me a concern..

We just picked up some " Wellness Wellbites"  turkey and duck flavor.
They have a very intense smell to them and my male GSD seems to really like them.
I can't wait for my female GSD to try them out, she is unreasonably finicky.

I use all kinds of different  types to keep a nice pace of change esspecially in the tracking phase . Hotdogs, biljack, pet botanic rolls or natrual balance ( cut up in nice little pieces,) really like those  they keep in the fridge and easy to cut into pieces, left over meat from dinner , gizzards ,( tracking only) not good obedience treats to messy :)

HI all! Since its now cold weather here, I am having issues with handling treats with my bulky winter gloves on. Any suggestions on what kind of treat I can use with gloves on? I had a suggestion from a friend to use hot dogs. Im thinking ,then that I would hold a whole hot dog or half of one but they are slippery and my dog sometimes likes to grab for the treats. She has very high prey drive/chase drive. I have been using the Old Roy chicken strip treats with her and Ive also used the Bil Jac liver treats. Also she loves her ball! She will forgo the treats for her ball but her ball wont keep her focused if a rabbit, cat, another dog comes along. I know it will be trial and error to see what works for her. Thanks for any help.

I use the Natural Balance rolls and also the Solid Gold treats. My dogs love them and they are not greasy like the hot dogs are.

dry kibble, roll food, frozen bil-jac, hotdogs, whatever works, have also used sardines, vienna sausage,  misc. leftovers.  depends on the dog.  i hate fussy eaters but if i have one i will find something they will like.
