ROFL Shelley, I LOVE that name!!!!!! LOL,LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!

"They might be pure GSD- some type of Am. pet & show back there? I don't see structure of high quality working or showlines but nothing about their faces screams any other breed in particular. The tailset of the really light pup in the bottom middle pic looks more Pit Bull than GSD, lol, the "pump handle look," which is why I said the structure isn't definitively "working lines" or "show lines" or "BYB lines". I sold a pup to someone who had a black male of American/Canadian pet/show lines and he threw blue puppies. They looked similar to these as puppies but matured out to be pretty typical GSDs as adults- straight backs, finer/medium bone, narrower heads...you could definitely tell they weren't "well bred" but they were nice dogs and healthy, far as I know. "
Jenni, I never figured they were "high quality", but their sassiness and bite work is different than the other BYB, litters I have had, and some of them have been purebred for a fact...lol...their tails change with what they are doing, sometime up over their back and other times, waggin' like a black lab!!!! I know you said set, but I was just watching the way they moved it...

Deb, cute photo of Ziggy!!!! They sure let you know when they are not happy, so much expression!!!!

Ya' know, I was wondering,... I did some research on here about the blues and livers, and I am wondering if the black and silver is actually a dilute gene??? Reese is a black and silver, could she have been blue as a pup? Her coat still hasn't come in yet, so not sure what color saddle she will really have, but... I am wondering too if they will keep the blue eyes??? Usually at this age I thought they started turning brown???

Jenni, I do have some of that food you are talking about, it is about $4.50 here, I have some, was going to take it on a trip, with the dogs, still have some in the fridge, it is GREAT!!!! I love it, so easy to feed and yes, thaws fast...but WAY!!!! Expensive...may have to send some with Bee, on her trip, I have the chix one and the beef one...chix, comes out of the pkg, easier, less mess.

I just had to start the second batch of pups on formula this am, tired of not sleeping through the nite, Mom won't feed them, they scream!!!!! Gave them the leerburg formula this am, and they are sleeping and happy. She is the worst mom, good at first, now hardly cleans up after them, would rather play ball...she is so young herself, no wonder, will upload photos later of them slurping up the pan of formula, sooooo cute, I sure wish I knew what they were too. Their heads are black like a Malinois, and dark grey, brown, and black bodies, 2 black and tan, and the one light sable girl with the black stripe down half her back..photos later,
Thanks all, Steph

Black & Silver comes from breeding a white GSD to a B/T so yes, mama is already diluted and no, she wasn't blue to start.  Adult blues have a diffent "hue" to them...plus her nose is black.  Daddy may carry the white gene.  That second litter may be a cross between a GSD & a Mal.  It would be hard to tell until they got older.  Someone who knows more about genetics please speak up about the diluted gene.

There's a good article here, by Fred Lanting: http://siriusdog.com/color-sable-genetics-breeding-shepherd-grau.htm

Just googling 'colour genetics in the GSD' turns up tons of links, including explanations of the blue, liver and white colors.

I'm assuming that sunset is due to the smoke from the forest fires.  Hope they stay far from you! The puppies are so cute!
