Krazy Bout K9s

by Krazy Bout K9s on 01 January 2010 - 03:01

Yes I remember very well. One of the good breeders that actually contacted me....I didn't see the tatoo in her ear, she had so much hair at the time...BTW where did all that hair go to????

Thanks so much for coming to River's rescue...

I also got a Christmas letter and photos, from one of my adopters...it was the best Christmas present I could hope for...
This was going to be a tough dog for them and thank God that they listened to my "keep her on a leash and tied to you for the first 30 days"
She wrote, "I more or less tethered her to me for a month or so and a deep bond occured...She was a willing student and we saw improvements daily.....and you will be happy to know Maddy now asks, she nudges me around 9pm each evening to be allowed into her crate for night night...."

This was a dog that hated her crate because she was kept in it , or tied, most of her first two years and bolted out the second it was opened. Had no obedience and didn't know how to play with another dog...she now plays with her adopted sister, KAssy Jo...

Thanks, Steph

I was thinking that too Michael, I took 9 years of Spanish from Grade to High school and about all I can remember is counting to 100 or so....LOL...

Anyone know the spanish commands, I can't find them on the internet, just about everything else though...

Sure wish that jerk would get back to me so I could at least try to do the best re-training of the dog...
Thanks, Steph

Pragers post sums up my new years hope.  A fools hope perhaps but it is how it should be.   My dream is there will be no more need for Rescue or shelters and to that end I just volunteered at  GSD Rescue of Northern CA

If you rescue a dogs from irresponsible owners then you may just support and perpetuate the problem and my experience is that they will do it again and again.....and again. People who have dogs are moving into apartment which does not allow dogs. Why ??!! Why not to apartment where they allow dogs ,.... since they have one or two. Or they just can not have a dog "any more", what ever that means. Thus I will not help to people like that. I hope that they will feel like crap when they are dumping a dog in dog pound or putting it down. I believe that every dog has a purpose here and the purpose of that particular dog was to teach these people some responsibility. I know, I know,... that assumes that such people have minimal emotions and that may be too much to expect.
Thus I have a rule to always take back a dog which I have sold, if there is no other way (Like proper training) or the one which is in eminent danger of life and limb or if someone dies or similar no fault situation. (By the way someone said that there is always someone at fault that is absolutely not the truth!)
My hope:
I would like to hope that each person keeps their dog through thick and thin. It is possible It you can not make that commitment do not buy a dog! The dog is the most faithful friend you will ever have. He will not let you down, will not betray you. That is more then you can say about almost any human. So try to be at least 1/2 as devoted to your dog as the dog is to you. Every dog should be for ever home dog. That is my hope.

Steph, It looks to me like the dog was bred in Columbia, so Spanish as we know it might not work, there are small differences from some countries.Being able to pronounce the words properly as Hodie stated might be a problem.Thats about all I know but good luck, maybe someone will help out.

For your information on the excuse, I have to give them up due to living situation. Here in California If the person has an order for a compaion dog, you have to take them and  the dog according to ADA LAWS. so the dog does not have to have it's therapy titles, just being used as a campanion.

Steph  thank you.     River dosen't need that hair anymore because she dosen't live outside she get to come into a warm house .here is a picture of River and her sister Shasta.Shasta came back to me because her owner got another dog and didn't want her  anymore after owning her for 5 years. how sad is that.

Vianden- I don't know who you are but I respect that you feel responsible for the dogs you breed.

Krazy- you may want to try FRENCH if the dog happened to be trained in ringsport.

I didn't know COLUMBIA  (of all freakin places) had an export trade in GSDs.  I don't want to think about this too much.

In the 2004-2005 Breeders Directory Ray Reid is listed as a Rescue ..... a German Shepherd Rescue.
The # listed was 503-363-3647

He is still listed as an Oregon Rescue on this website as well (the second # - the first # goes to a employee):

Hope that helps!

VonWaldHimmel:
If Ray Reid is a rescue I will eat my shirt,,,look at his website, it says breeder, trainer, judge and importer...
vonHausReid

And all rescues take their dogs back....These people paid around $1000 for a puppy that didn't work out, too wild for her to handle,...then he replaced with this dog...that he told them he paid over $1000 for... besides 2004-5 was a LONG time ago....
I called him and got someone there but he was not available so I left a message for him to call me please...never heard from him, but he suddenly called the people after they had been calling him for several months....he was supposed to call them back after he looked the dog up...they never heard back from him...

Freemont...look at his papers above; it says Columbia right on them. I looked at the De Santa Monica bloodlines and most are from Columbia...I know scary....

Vianden:
Wow, what a difference, she seems, so happy now...and again Kudos and thank you for taking her back. She was really a sweet dog....
Just wish I could say the same about some other breeders, we would have less dogs in rescue...
