There is one point that should be considered here which is when you hear a report or a news on TV  without pictures is one thing but when there are pictures it is some thing else.
I hear there was an earthquake in Thailand, okay, but when I see pictures I feel for the people and their misery, now for some in the Islamic world who think a non Muslim killed a Muslim it's only a piece of news but when you broadcast pictures of him killed those people will have stronger feelings towards US. The point is not showing pictures is better for the US.
Why would they lie about him being killed, I think it's true and I don't have doubts.
It does not reduce the the petrol price, true, but it makes a difference. It sends a strong message, you can not escape from punishment when you commit such a crime. This message is very important. It sends a message that through terrorizing peaceful people you can not win a just cause. You think Bush is your enemy, you kill Bush not peaceful Americans. You think Assad is a criminal, you bring him to court, you do not go killing innocent Syrians. Right?
One more thing, throwing his body in the sea is not wise and not humanitarian at all and was a mistake and I doubt they truly did that.

I do not doubt that he was killed May 1, 2011, as President Obama reported.  I believe the reason his body was buried within 24 hours was because that is in keeping with Muslim tradition, I believe it was buried at sea because there was no other nation we are friendly with that was willing to take it, and to bring the body on US soil would have been a liability, not only from trying to keep people from stealing it, but also because frankly, I doubt many Americans  would be able to stomach his body being laid to rest on US soil.

I understand strong feelings, but let's not forget about the strong feelings of other people,  including the families of the more than 3,000 innocent people who were slaughtered on 9/11, an act Osama Bin Laden very gleefully took credit for.  If pictures of a dead Osama Bin Laden will help them find some semblance of closure, then so be it.  Frankly I don't give a shit about hurting the feelings of Osama  followers.

I understand that, what is to be fought against is the idea itself and those who believe in it and ready to do actions to prove it correct. Bin Laden as a symbol and leader is done, dead, no more. The idea is now weakened especially people in the region are changing things peacefully, and that proves what Bin Laden believed in didn't work, the contrary is.
US shouldn't encourage extremists by uncalculated gestures. People over here are looking differently to the US, they see it as less offending in some places and friendly in other places, let's build on this new image of the US.
Bin Laden is no more, gone, put him behind and look forward to a more peaceful future. On the other hand serious pressure is to be put on Pakistan to give up the rest of the group and some diplomatic deal be worked out with Taliban and let's get over the fighting and haterd.

Absolutely, Ibrahim, absolutely.  Great strides are made only when we come to the table with respect, appreciation and genuine love in our hearts for one another, because when you get down to it, we are all members of the same family, no matter where we happen to reside.  If we start from the place of mutual commonality we can work out our differences.  I truly believe this is the only way we will ever have peace in our time.

EDITED TO ADD:  Perhaps it would be possible to set up viewings for the family members of those killed in those terrorist attacks Bin Laden either took credit for or was indicted in, but in a very controled environment,  not over the internet, not to satisfy the curiosity of the general public.
