Seen any good movies this summer? It has been so hot outside that a chilly air conditioned theatre would be perfect entertainment.

I am wondering about the new Ghost Busters movie and how it's all female line up stands up to the classic and iconic original comedy. Anybody seen it? I am hoping to convince my boys we should check it out,

Or, just share a review for any movie you have seen this summer!

I took the boys to see the new Ghost Busters movie. They enjoyed it. It was entertaining with many nostalgic nods to the original, including cameo roles for Bill Murray and Sigourney.

I think a second one will be able to focus more on any evil characters to drive along a plot. There was necessarily movie time devoted to a background to be satisfying for any viewers of the original movie classic, as they would surely be making and judging comparisons.

All in all it was fun to be able to share a similar movie experience between our generations.

Plus, we finally got some rain!

Rain? Not today.

I can't go to the movies with my family because we all have different tastes. I'm also a bit of a film buff (OK, a snob) so I can't sit through bad movies. The worst thing to happen to films was the PG 13 rating. It means that filmmakers are trying to make movies that appeal to a 13 year old and a 50 year old. It used to be G was for little kids, PG for older kids and R was for adults. So they make kids' movies more vulgar and adult movies less smart to make a PG 13 film.

I remember watching one of the dumb Transformers movies with my kid and all the sexual innuendo seemed way out of place given that it is based on a cartoon. I guess they feel that would appeal to the "adults."
