I have a 4 months old puppy and he has a white nail .Must be worried? or the nail it becomes dark as he becomes older?

I'd say its common. The nail past the quick generally is white until they age. My pups nails where white when he was small and it was so much easier to clip his nails, being that you could see the quick. Now that they are black I have a hard time and will just take him to the groomer.

You tell me that as the dog grows up the nail must become normal black?

Happened to my pup. All his nails were white when he was little. Now they are black.

My guy was born with one white nail, and it is still white at 2.5 years....the easiest nail to cut

Well, if the nails are allowed to grow out on young pups, the ends will tend to look white in nature but the nail itself will be black. If the dog has pink/white pigment of the skin where that toe is, then the nail will often be white instead of black. This is not a major fault or anything-its just a cosmetic thing. Pups with white toe tips will often have maybe 1-2 lighter nails on a foot. Like its been said, it makes the quick easier to see and thus easier to keep trimmed. It really shouldn't make any difference, even when purchasing a show dog. It has absolutely no bearing on the healthiness of the dog.

I have had white nails grow in black on one side. Literally, my dog has a striped nail. Kinda funny. I have seen a few white nails grow in black, and I've seen some stay white. Only time will tell. White nails are supposed to be a fault but there are quite a few very highline dogs who have them anyway!
