Will there be a DVD??? It seems so strange to me that we hear absolutely Nothing and that the reports are so guarded. What is going on and why have the results not been posted? I find all of this most disturbing. Was something not right at this show?

by workingdawg on 23 April 2007 - 03:04

for the people that really do train, put in all the time, and select dog that can work it's a real slap in the face to them and their dogs. i congradulate those people for your effort. it's bs that the USA helper commity and the USA organization lets this type of work go on. there is two standards. i would like to hear some solutions to this problem.

Some of you may recall the angry reactions when Herr Messler gave cracked down on lackluster Schutzdienst. I believe that the strategy is to maintain minimal standards without alienating too many members. Best Wishes, Jonah

Sunshine , Yes you can buy the protection video at http://www.famtreasures.com/2007USASiegerShow.htm The only way to change the rules for helper work at the sieger show is for everybody to complain about how soft the helpers are torwards the dogs. Complain to the organization and demand that the helper work to get stricter and tougher. If people don't complain then nothing will get accomplished.

there should be one standard. that standard should not be lowered. if that standard is "alienating too many members" maybe they should go do agility.

Brittany, At this point I am only complaining about the lack of information. Just like with any disease, you need to go step-by-step. Why am I as a USCA member not being informed of a major event at the time in a world which has allowed for instant communication. If I were in my own business, doing as these people do, I would expect Spitzer on my back. Why do these organizations not hold up to the high standards of any business? I do pay club dues and entry fees etc. It does cause for irritation. I am interested and I want to know. I will draw my own conclusions once I see something. I will not go by hearsay. But show me the first step in being open by showing me the damn results. Thank you.

What's wrong with posting results clearly marked "UNOFFICIAL RESULTS"? When will they become official? I have heard trial results are not official until they are in the magazine. Don't know if that's true or not.

Sunshine, I do apologize for the confusion of my post. I only responded to your post when you were requesting a DVD of the protection work. The rest of the post was directed by those who saw the protection work and complained about how soft the helpers were. I fully understand your point of views. I'm not a member of USCA so I can't complain about the way things are done over there. I can only suggest that if you do not like something that the organization is doing, complain to them. If they don't fix the problem, do not pay your next dues and join another organization that is much more organized. Again I'm not a member but I'm dying to see them results too :D you're not the only one who's getting impatient about this :D I know approx 3 people who told me that they were competing.. I want to see how they turned out.. ERRR I hate waiting LOL

LaPorte , Go ahead and post the Unofficial results. I don't care. I just want to see who participated and the rankings.

deeswolf i agree with you, there are showlines that can work and bite FOR REAL, but are few and far between.that was all i was trying to say. they should put as much pressure on these dogs and finally weed out the unsuitable dogs that are being bred.it's a shame. i don't want a golden retreiver,(i'm sure they can tdo the bitework at a seiger show :))) LOL) but,i want a german shepherd that will protect me!
