People come on here alot and complain about how american dogs look, but this puppy is just as bad if not worse, JMO.  This is just too extreme.

that can not be good for any dog. i believe all countrys are breeding like that for the silly americans that just have to have it .the fools think that is what a good gsd looks like.any less and you will be asked the silly question..what is your shepherd mixed with ? sad for the dogs.

its not just the americans who want this look.  I know plenty of people in america, who, if you walked that puppy down the road, they would ask whats wrong with it.  most of america do not want a dog that looks like that.  its the show people and judges who put that in the ribbons.  it is not correct, no matter what lines the dog is out of.

I know people who got away from the american show dogs, and went with the german because of the extreme angulation of the american lines, now the german lines are going the same way.  it is sad to me.

and this pup is adv. as a TOP show prospect.

Yeah, they should feed him Pedigree....that would fix that problem in no time.

Well, she's leaning against a wall and nearly sitting. I'd like to see a better angled photo in a more correct stand, but I will say the pasterns are not strong enough for my taste.  Of course, that can change with age.

I took a picture or a young pup a while back, the photo came out with her looking overangulated, with a broken topline and a very steep croup. She took that moment to squirm her toosh down and nearly sat as it was being taken. She looks nothing like that when she stands naturally. I would love to compare that photo with one of her in a proper stand, but she is not my dog and I would not expose her to the criticism this board lives off of.

The point is,  it really is not fair to judge a dog, especially a young puppy that you have never met based on one photo. The breeder is also not doing the pup justice posting such an unflattering photo.

True, I bet the breeder doesn't even feed his dogs Pedigree.

WHATS THE WORLD COMING TO??

im sure the owner would want the best photo to be taken as i doubt they would pay to advertise it in a poor light.when was the last time a gsd took top dog in any major shows in america lately.mabe with any luck our show judges are saying enough is enough.the showline people should take heed and not ruin the breeds health.alittle less will go along way.and the other countrys should follow suit. theres no way a dog like that can work all day and not be sore and on meds.

Uber Land you are right  Most  Americans would ask if something is wrong with that puppy! That is not normal in the "Every day " life of American who grow up with the German Shepherds.  I feel really bad for the animals that are breed that way.
