My GSD died today at the age of 10.To young to be gone but forever he will live in our hearts.Over the past few months Mace had done things which were unlike him.I had him check ed 2 times by our vet both times with a clean bill of health.Today I had 2 guys working on a new kennel.Mace was as always outside with me.Always by my side.
I walked into the barn as the men were driving around back with aload of building material.My daughter screamed at me that Mace was chasing the truck.I walked out to see him biting at the back tire.This dog has never chased cars...I mean not one time.As I started for the truck I saw him make contact with the tire.I really didnt see him after that as I was at a full run toward him.
He got up and limped to me ,falling just as I got to him,We rushed him to our vet. after xrays the vet showed us damage all in the back end .Broken hips ,pelvic ect...We decided to let him go
He had been muzzled for the xrays.I held his big black head gently took the muzzle off.Kissed him and waited as the drugs took effect.Turning I saw my family weeping for the dog we all loved.My 19 year old who is so strong,my 17 year old who is too cool to cry,my 6 year old who learned how to play outside safe with his big black protector as they fought robbers and killed aliens in our woods.My husband who does not "like dogs"We are so rich for having you in our lives.
We will miss you Mace.I see you in my mind a black ball of fur flipping snow with your nose.I see you watching me with eyes so full of love.I see my life without you and I weep.

Goodbye old man I will love you forever

so sorry. My boy is 10 and I know it would kill me to lose him now.

goto I hurt for yu oh god it hurts so please get another to eaase the pain.I lost charlotte 11 months ago but she is in the back yard with annabelle resting for rainbow bridge. I am sorry for you take care please
