Greetings St B & dog lovers in general.
I just wanted to share something that might help some of our furry friends.
Many dogs seem to have a problem with a split nose that never seems to heal.
Here is a help. I thought perhaps this open, split sore was genetic to a specific breed, but it does not appear so now, as I hear of others with it as well.
Treatment is Aquaphor. $15 from Walmart. Use the Aquaphor 3x a day. This appears to take 2-3 months for full healing and nose color to blacken back up.
If this does not work, then get a prescription for Protopic. It is pricey at almost $200 though.
All the best.
